YCIT and Siemens Celebrate the 10th Anniversary of UGS College

To develop the next generation of automotive engineers, in 2005, YCIT set up an independent UGS College at the institute to integrate software of Siemens PLM Software into its curriculum for all undergraduate mechanics students.

Through 10 years’ operation, YCIT has not only developed curriculua to teach NX and Teamcenter in daily teaching, but also established an internship program with Siemens PLM Software, to build up work-ready potential engineers. Thousands of students benefited from it through the years. Employers benefit by hiring students from YCIT who are taught curricula which deals with the entire lifecycle of the product. Wang Yao Shan delivered a speech as graduate student representative that the program as helped him in job application and career development.

He said YCIT teaches “REAL PLM FOR the REAL WORLD”, which helps provide an advantage in the employment market.

Siemens PLM and YCIT are partners in development a stronger pipeline of engineering and digital manufacturing talent, further cooperation is ongoing.
