Igniting innovation: how Siemens is empowering France’s startup ecosystem 

With more than 20,000 startups collectively worth over €290 billion (more than $300 billion USD), France fosters a thriving startup ecosystem. Within this dynamic environment, Siemens Digital Industries Software has supported more than 50 startups in industries such as agriculture, aerospace and maritime technology.

Siemens startup packages and partner-system in France

Startups in France have access to several packages of Siemens software, such as Solid Edge for Startups and Xcelerator for Startups which includes Teamcenter, NX and more.  

To best support startups utilizing CAD/CAM/CAE and PLM software, Siemens DISW works with partners who provide dedicated experts in the specific software each startup uses. For example, flying boat startup SEAir works with Siemens partners  with JANUS Engineering and SIGMEO using NX and CFD to reduce design time and increase efficiency.

Seederal

Seederal is an industrial startup leading the charge in creating 100% electric agricultural machinery. Their mission is to decarbonize agriculture and rethink the “tractor of tomorrow” in collaboration with farmers.  

This spring, the company made a new advancement with the first 100% electric powertrain without a gearbox which already delivers 160 horsepower. 

Sirius Space

Since 2020, Sirius Space Services has been creating reusable launchers for small and mid-sized satellites to make accessing space more sustainable. The company aims to create 100% reusable launchers in the future. 

In December 2023, Sirius Space Services launched a fire tests campaign with their Star-1, a flight scale rocket engine, that will be used for the company’s family of launchers.  

Pipo Moteur

As a startup designing engines, Pipo Moteur has provided competition engines for racing, as well as hydrogen engines and more. In the competitive setting, they have partnered to create engines for Ford, Bentley and Peugeot models. 

Embarking on a new challenge, Pipo Moteur is now enhancing efforts to pioneer hydrogen engines. These engines will find applications in sports racing, light and heavy mobility, as well as sectors in marine and aviation.
