Embedded World, Nuremberg is next week!
Next week, Tuesday-Thursday, is what I believe to be the biggest event dedicated to embedded system development on the planet: Embedded World. It is a massive show. The exhibition includes just about anything remotely connected with embedded design. It is so large that there is a shuttle bus to take you from one side of the site to the other. Mentor is exhibiting there, of course, and, along with a few colleagues, I will be presenting a number of papers in the conference …
Mentor’s booth is in Hall 4 – booth #4643. There will be lots going on. You can see full details here.
The conference at Embedded World has numerous tracks and is carefully managed to avoid to many sales pitches. I have spoken here most years and the sessions are usually very well attended. This year I have four papers:
- C – The Language of Embedded – Tuesday 09:30-10:00
- Dynamic Memory Allocation & Fragmentation in C & C++ – Thursday 10:00-10:30
- Self-testing in Embedded Systems – Thursday 14:30-15:00
- Writing Reliable Code with MISRA C – Thursday 12:00-12:30
If you are attending Embedded World, do stop by and say hello. If you would like copies of any of my slides, please contact me by email or via social media.

Hi Collin,
I appreciate the webinars that you present on the Embedded systems master class seminar. I have attended all up until Encapsulation of Expertise. I will be attending the Embedded world in Nuremberg next week. I hope to meet you there. My querry is about accessing learning material for embedded C++. It offers quite a good method of developing embedded software using OO methodolgies.
About myself, I am a graduate of Automotive electronics and I have developed embedded C for PIC and Atmel parts. I am keen to learn ARM micro-controllers. I currently work of an automotive components re-manufacturer of steering subsystems. My typical day is reverse engineering CAN communication networks.
I have bought a book on Embedded C++ as well but never got free time off my work to learn.
It would be nice to have a chart on learning resources and your advise on one just starting out.
Kind regards,
Gabriel OCAGA
