Seminar on Managing Multi-Disciplinary Mechatronics Complexity

I’m headed to Marquette University for a one-day information exchange that we’re co-sponsoring. The subject is managing multi-disciplinary mechatronics complexity in product development.

As you know products and their manufacture processes have become increasingly more complex. With mechanical devices adding more and more electronics and software, engineers face new challenges. If you’re an engineer, you might want to check out this seminar where a panel of experts will address how you can:

  • Model and evaluat new product concepts against a set of requirements and constraints.

  • Synchronize and manage multi-disciplinary requirements that define features, functions, logic and physical objects.

  • Capture, manage and collaborate multi-disciplinary product data comprised of CAD, CAE, ECAD, software and electronics.

  • Support global product development – collaboration, engineering change process, reuse of design/products, and variability.

This seminar will take place tomorrow, August 17th at 8:30 a.m. at the Marquette University’s School of Engineering.  Keynote speakers are  Craig Brown of General Motors Corporation and David Foulkes of Mercury Marine.

If you’re in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin, area, I hope that you can stop by. For more information and to register, here’s the link again to Marquette’s event webpage.
