Siemens and NVIDIA the most dynamic duo since Batman and Robin

It’s no secret that innovative business strategies as well as collaborative engineering and development teams on both sides made up the foundation for this successful partnership between Siemens and NVIDIA. Much like the superhero duo, the two make a great team.

This Software and Technology collaboration utilizes Simulation and Test Solutions such as Simcenter STAR-CCM+ for enhanced CFD simulations coupled with NVIDIA GPU technology, allowing for reduced power consumption and lower hardware costs.

The STS Partner Office helps to manage and support partnerships like this one throughout its lifecycle to ensure mutual benefit to both organizations.

Keys to the success of this dynamic partnership

“This offers us a huge advantage to see how our software performs on this state-of-the-art equipment before our competitors.”

The partnership between Siemens and NVIDIA has proven to be a dynamic teaming of talents. Some of the successful business outcomes are as follows:

  • shared access to technological expertise or systems that would otherwise not be available
  • parallel focus on technical innovation to mutual advantage
  • leverage multiple workflows automated for synchronized performance testing, yielding faster outcomes
  • close collaboration to quickly identify and craft solutions to performance issues
  • teaming on social media campaigns and marketing events

STS Partner NVIDIA specializes in GPUs, or graphics processing units, that have been more widely used for video games but are being harnessed for their multitasking capabilities in systems, outperforming standard CPUs.

Since they have been a part of the Partner Program, NVIDIA has worked closely with the engineering and development teams for Simcenter STAR-CCM+ toward successful benchmarking outcomes demonstrated at the recent GPU Technology Conference (GTC) this past March.

The GTC was a free virtual conference hosted by NVIDIA for engineering and development teams, students and business leaders from around the globe. During the event, development council meetings were held, along with live GPC rendering and discussions where participants could share the top five functions and features they want to see in future productions.

What the Siemens and NVIDIA teams are saying

“The Partner Program allowed for exclusive access to NVIDIA’s performance lab to test our software with the latest hardware available prior to its official release,” states Simulation and Test Solutions team member Liam McManus. “This offers us a huge advantage to see how our software performs on this state-of-the-art equipment before our competitors.”

Niveditha Krishnamoorthy, Developer Relations Manager at NVIDIA notes, “It has been very easy to work with each of the teams and exciting to see how well Siemens packages and presents the Benchmarking outcomes.”
