A Critic’s Perspective: Dr. Ken Versprille on the PLM Components Conference

By John_W

Dr. Ken Versprille is a well respected CAD pioneer; his research and contributions to the industry are numerous and span over 35 years. He was the lead architect on the CADDS 4 product, the leader of the CAD industry’s first geometric kernel business. He also published the first description of NURBS which is now an international standard in CAD and Computer Graphics. In 2005 he received a Lifetime Achievement Award by The CAD Society.

We were fortunate to have him as a speaker at our first PLM Components Innovation Conference; his topic was “A History of CAD Innovation”. In addition to contributing to the conference as a speaker, he’s also written a follow up commentary on his experience at the conference (attached as a pdf to this blog entry).

I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did.
