I just read an excellent article about Component-Based Software Engineering (CBSE) which I wanted to share with our customers. The author is Joe Barkai, a highly experienced and respected researcher, author and speaker who consults on a range of technologies including PLM and IoT.

Joe’s analysis neatly constructs a case for the strategic value of CBSE, while examining some of the organizational and technical barriers to its adoption. He also covers some helpful assessment criteria for deciding between proprietary software development and outsourcing.
