Refresh your mind with some basic knowledge about hydraulic fluids
You would like to better understand how an excavator lifts a heavy load, how a bottle filling machine accurately fills several thousand containers, or how a crane digs a large quantity of ore?
First, refresh your mind with some basic knowledge about the properties, parameters, and phenomena of hydraulic fluids.
Pascal stated in 1651 that “a change of pressure at any point in a fluid closed at rest is transmitted without diminution to all points of the fluid” … which means that it is then possible to transmit forces using the static pressure of a fluid.
This leads us to our second point: transposing this knowledge of physics into engineering application, allows us today to build machines to multiply the forces!
In order to build a powerful machine capable of lifting, pushing, digging … in all operating conditions, engineers must design energy-efficient hydraulic systems, composed of accurately-sized hydraulic components such as pumps, valves, lines, actuators, and auxiliaries.
