Simulation-Driven Design: Simulate While Designing
Welcome back to the fourth part of our simulation-driven design blog series! If you have not had a chance to read our previous posts, check them out below!
Part 1: The Age of Simulation-Driven Design
Part 2: The Benefits of Simulation-Driven Design
Part 3: Simulation-Driven Design: Generate Completly New Design Concepts
This week, we are talking about how CAE can use NX simulation to design a product and quickly test if the design meets performance requirements. Imagine spending a tremendous amount of time designing a product, only to find out it does not work. So you go back and redesign it…only to test it and it does not work again! NX design simulation minimizes this issue by allowing you to quickly perform “what if” simulations of products performance.
Based on the outcome of the performance, they can determine if you want to make further adjustments to acquire the pre-determined performance requirements. Simply put, simulation- driven design can be summarized with the image below.
NX design simulation also allows engineers to view the original designed model and the redesigned model side by side to compare and analyze each performance. This allows the user to appropriately decide what adjustments, if any, need to be made.
To find more out about NX design simulation, check out the video below where it talks about how easy the development of plastic electronic housing can be if we expand CAE to users in design groups!
Don’t forget to come back on July 3rd (two weeks from today) to learn about Automate Simulation Processes!
