Continuing the Femap Symposium Series 2015 in Washington DC

The Femap Symposium Series 2015 continued last week with an event at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum in Dulles, VA co-hosted with Siemens channel partner, Structural Design and Analysis.

In addition to seeing the latest capabilities in Femap 11.2, attendees also had the chance to hear a couple of user presentations, and learn more about Femap’s API and free body postprocessing tool, not to mention walk around the museum and look at some of the fascinating exhibits.

Dr. Chris Mairs of Cardinal Engineering talked about using Femap’s API in modeling ship piping and foundations.

Andrew Sayles and Thomas McQuigg of Orbital ATK Space Systems Group presented some examples of Femap use in spacecraft analysis.

Russ Hilley, a Femap expert at SDA, gave a presentation about understanding free bodies in Femap.

Femap developers Mark Sherman and Andy Haines updated everyone with the latest capabilities in Femap version 11.2.

As usual, the event finished with a developer roundtable giving the attendees a chance to put questions directly to the Femap developers, represented on this occasion by Mark Sherman, Patrick Kriengsiri, Dan Hinkle, Bill Cobb, Chip Fricke, Andy Haines and Joe Brackin.

The Smithsonian Air and Space Museum was certainly a fantastic setting for this event, and a great way to continue the Femap Symposium Series 2015.
