Realize LIVE Detroit is our flagship user event and will be followed by dozens of one-day Solid Edge University events globally. Stay tuned for more details on that. For now, let’s get into the presentation highlights. These are some of the sessions hosted by Siemens. In upcoming posts, we will highlight sessions from our customers and Solid Edge users, so keep an eye out for those as well.

If you’re excited to know what the future holds for Solid Edge, you’re in luck. Dan Staples, Vice President of Mainstream Engineering Research & Development, together with Jon Sutcliffe, director of Global Technical Enablement, will present Solid Edge 2020 for the first time ever during their session “Introduction to Solid Edge 2020.” Solid Edge 2020 delivers next generation product development for today’s engineers, including best-in-class mechanical, electrical and PCB design, fully integrated simulation analysis, the latest tools for subtractive and additive manufacturing, robust technical documentation, industry leading data management and requirements management capabilities, and free, secure cloud-based project collaboration. Be among the first to see Solid Edge 2020 unveiled and hear about the exciting new technology that is coming to Solid Edge in the next year.

Jon Sutcliffe will also be presenting a session dedicated entirely to mechanical design entitled “Solid Edge 2020 Mechanical Design Update.” During this presentation, you can learn about some of the key enhancements to the core CAD tools in Solid Edge 2020 and explore new ways to become more productive. Solid Edge 2020 features new capabilities in sheet metal, part modeling, large assembly design tools, next generation design and reverse engineering.

Another exciting session, “Cloud: What does it mean to you?”, will cover how to manage your online CAD data with secure controlled sharing. This session will be presented by Tosh Tambe who is the Director of Connected Design Solutions at Siemens. Tosh is passionate about finding innovative solutions to address the ever-changing needs and challenges of manufacturing industry customers. During his session you’ll learn how to share projects with suppliers and customers without worrying about the security of your data. Select specific projects to be shared with other users, specify the rights that each user has to view and download the project, and share email updates with a direct link to the project in the collaboration portal.

Finally, if you’re dying for a chance to sit down with the product managers and share your input for the future direction of Solid Edge, you won’t want to miss the Product Management Roundtable we have lined up. Oliver Duncan, Greg Baldwin and Sudha Srikakolapu will be an open and frank discussion with our users to learn what you like about Solid Edge, what you hope to see in the next release, and more. This is your opportunity to talk with the Product Managers of Solid Edge and our opportunity to learn from you. We hope you’ll join us!
