Designing welded frames? – this new case study may be of interest!

DSC_0540.jpgCalder manufacturers high pressure pumping systems that are used in hostile environments such as North Sea oil rigs

Calder Ltd. is a manufacturer of high pressure pumping systems based in Worcester, UK. We just published a case study that has detailed engineering content including insights into how Calder is using the Solid Edge Frames environment to rapidly and accurately design welded frames, and then use Solid Edge Simulation to verify that the final system will perform as needed in the demanding environments, like offshore oil rigs, where their systems are used.

The case study also comments on Calder’s use of synchronous technology for fast design changes, and their use of the comprehensive sheet metal design capabilities in Solid Edge. Calder also uses mobile devices that enabled their designers to access their full design projects while mobile, and that also run mobile viewers and that aid communication between design, manufacturing, suppliers and customers.

You can also watch the case study video.
