Student Spotlight: Brittany Paris
Meet Brittany Paris, a senior at Fountain Lake High School in Hot Springs Arkansas. As part of Fountain Lake’s project-based learning program, Brittany is learning that nursing and engineering really can go together. What do you plan to study after High School?
I plan on going into the medical field. I would like to look into becoming either a Registered Nurse or an Occupational Therapist. My other choice would be Mechanical Engineer or Mechanic.
Has this class influenced your career choices?
Yes, it has made a major impact on how I look at engineering. It has led me more toward a creeer in mechanical engineering. I find all of this beyond amazing and would love to explore more about it.
When did you first start using Solid Edge?
I first started using Solid Edge in August of 2015.
Where and how did you learn to use Solid Edge?
I learned it at school, and we had packets (tutorials) which allowed a basic knowledge of Solid Edge so that we were able to reverse engineer other products.
What do you like best about Solid Edge?
The complexity of Solid Edge.
What’s the most interesting thing you’ve done in Solid Edge?
The most interesting thing that I have done in Solid Edge is making a bird house.
What have you learned about engineering or about Solid Edge during this class?
Dimensions are crucial, and you have to pay close attention to the numbers!
Who has most influenced you academically?
My parents – they work so hard to influence me and motivate me to do better at everything I do.
What change do you want to accomplish in the world? Specifically what could you do using the skills learned in this class?
Making things that are 3D that could help people – for example, prosthetics.
