New in Teamcenter Share: December 2023

The most recent release of Teamcenter Share launched on December 18, 2023, and includes several enhancements and new options designed to help users collaborate more efficiently. Teamcenter Share 2312 is highlighted by an expanded roster of supported file types, increased integration with Siemens Xcelerator products, and much more.

Enhanced column selection dialogue

Users can now add, remove or rearrange column sequences in projects and the Task Board. Expanding on the new selection abilities, can also sort by using properties defined in other Siemens Xcelerator products, specifically those for Mechanical Design, Solid Edge, and NX.

New options include Solid Edge properties; “Document Number,” “Revision,” “Project Name,” “Title” and “Status.” Similarly, new NX property options are available, including “NX Part Is Part,” “NX Part Is Assembly,” “NX Part Is Drawing,” “NX Part Units Type,” “Has CAM,” “Has CAE,” “NX Family Member” and “NX Part Family Template.”

Further enhancements to list view includes the ability to view Solid Edge Data Management properties in Teamcenter Share. Users can now view “Document Number,” “Revision”, and “Status” in the Teamcenter Share list view.

Automatic task sorting

Tasks are now automatically sorted in the Task Board, allowing users to quickly identify tasks by “Priority,” “Status” and “Due Date.” Tasks are sorted first by “Status,” then by “DueDate”, and finally by “Priority.”

View and markup of PTC Creo and Autodesk Inventor files

Teamcenter Share continues to expand support for multiple file types across the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio and beyond. With the release of Teamcenter Share 2312, view and markup support for PTC Creo parts (.prt.version_number) and Autodesk Inventor parts (.ipt) has been added.

The Creo and Inventor file types join Teamcenter Share’s ever-growing roster of supported file types for view and markup, which includes Images, PDFs (2D), JTs, Capital electrical design, NX (drawings, parts and assemblies), Solid Edge (drafts, parts and assemblies), Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), SolidWorks (parts and assemblies), HyperLynx, DM PLMX, OBJ, IGES, STP, and STL.

Additional enhancements

  • Increase communication and collaboration by inserting hyperlinks in notes.
  • Simplify search results by removing unwanted categories.
