Expert Panel: Developing an AI/ML Strategy for Simulation and Design Optimization Webinar
In today’s rapidly evolving technological landscape, it is imperative to leverage the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) for product design and development to gain a competitive edge. By utilizing AI/ML, businesses can revolutionize their product development process, enabling them to identify optimal designs faster, assess their pros and cons, and generate novel designs that surpass their competitors. In an upcoming webinar, experts from Siemens Energy, General Motors, and Siemens Digital Industries Software will be exploring those novel applications and what that means for Computer Aided Engineering (CAE). Register here to learn more.
The panel discussion will outline strategic approaches for integrating AI/ML into CAE, with a focus on real-life experiences and insights from industry experts. With as new as AI and ML are, finding the optimal way to apply them to existing workflows and processes can be challenging. It is at these times that turning to experts with real-life experience is most valuable to help navigate the turbulent process of designing and deploying AI solutions to industry applications.
These experts, who have spent their careers working in conventional engineering simulation, will share their experiences on what it takes to fully invest in machine learning to enhance the product development cycle. AI and ML are powerful tools when applied to CAE which can not only speed up the design process but allow for the exploration of a wider design space as well.
Going forward, applying these techniques will be vital for companies looking to gain a competitive edge when it comes to delivering next-generation products faster while also meeting the demands for smarter, more sustainable designs. With that in mind, the webinar will cover a range of key topics, including CAE simulations, virtual animation data, and product design iterations and optimization.
Leading this discussion will be two renowned experts, Astrid Walle from Siemens Energy and Simon Xu from General Motors. Astrid is a mechanical engineer with a PhD in CFD and more than a decade of experience in applied fluid mechanics. She has held several positions in gas turbine R&D and AI development at Siemens Energy, Vattenfall and Rolls Royce. Simon is a Tech Fellow for Vehicle Optimization and ML at General Motors’ Engineering Design and Virtual Integration organization. He chairs the GM global optimization focus group and is responsible for innovations of optimization/ML tools in vehicle and electrified propulsion system development. These experts will share their experiences and insights on how to leverage machine learning to the fullest when applied to the challenges faced in the world of CAE.
The panel discussion will be facilitated by Justin Hodges from Siemens Digital Industries Software. Justin is a senior AI/ML technical specialist. He helps customers solve relevant problems which add value to their business and delivered products. Justin earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Central Florida in thermofluids with doctoral research was on film cooling flow fields, predicting turbulence and thermal fields with advanced turbulence modeling and machine learning approaches.
These experts will be sharing their knowledge live on Thursday, December 7th, 2023 at 11:00 AM (Eastern US) time. Click here to register and learn more. Also be sure to check out this page to learn more about the innovative AI/ML enabled tools Siemens Xcelerators Simcenter offers.
