Press release: A collaboration to automate industrializing additive manufacturing

In a recent press releaseSintavia announced its collaboration with Siemens Digital Industries Software to develop end-to-end additive manufacturing (AM) software. Sintavia provides testing and feedback for AM solutions software, becoming a preferred partner in this advanced market, providing technical implementation support.

This integrated additive manufacturing solution’s value exceeds digitally connecting phases in the AM process by providing proficient knowledge to deliver quality 3D printed metal parts. This expertise addresses customer demand in the aerospace industry while delivering digital thread connectivity and automation software, thus resulting in optimal efficiency.

“The collaboration with Sintavia is vital to our efforts to develop an automated end-to-end solution that spans the entire AM lifecycle—from designing an optimized part, preparing it 3D printing and simulating its build, to planning serial production, executing on the shop floor, and delivering a qualified part,” says Aaron Frankel, Vice President of the AM Program for Siemens Digital Industries Software.

Unlike traditional manufacturing, the additive manufacturing process does not have easy access to the software or technical expertise. Therefore, companies do not have the means to make everyone an expert. Hence, there’s a crucial need for sophisticated software to automate tasks, making additive a simplified process.

Subsequently, Sintavia and Siemens’ three-year collaboration includes joint sales and marketing activities at Sintavia’s world-class facility, showcasing Siemens’ additive manufacturing solution in an industrialized additive production environment.

“Siemens has a strong commitment to sustainability – it is a key part of the Siemens 2020+ vision,” said Frankel.
