Mentor Leads Portable Stimulus at DVCon US
I think I’ve mentioned before that DVCon (now DVCon US) is one of my favorite times of year. Having a history of attending the conference from way back in its HDLCon days, I always look forward to seeing how the technology grows from year to year. Especially serving as Technical Program Chair again gives me a great perspective to see what’s in store for the conference attendees.
This year you’ll once again be seeing some great sessions on the new Accellera Portable Test and Stimulus Standard, starting with the Monday morning tutorial, “Portable Test and Stimulus: The Next Level of Verification Productivity is Here,” to be presented by “yours truly” and Adnan Hamid from Breker. This is a completely revamped tutorial that will cover the material in the about-to-be-released-for-Public-Review Beta version of the standard, and I think you’ll find it very informative. We’ll close the tutorial with a rousing panel discussion featuring all the key contributors from the Accellera Portable Stimulus Working Group (PSWG).
I’ll also be presenting a quick PSWG status update at the Accellera luncheon following the tutorial.
On Tuesday morning, be sure to check out Technical Session 2: Portable Stimulus Applications, featuring a paper co-written with our friends at Nokia and being presented by our own Matthew Ballance, “Building Portable Stimulus Into Your IP-XACT Flow.”
Matthew will also be presenting a poster on Tuesday right after the Portable Stimulus paper session. The poster is titled “Managing and Automating Hw/Sw Tests from IP to SoC” and explains Matthew’s ingenious UEX (Micro EXecutor) API which provides portable memory-management and access, interrupt handling, and threading implementations that work alongside the Portable Stimulus Standard to let you reuse parts of your test realization as well as your intent.
